Whispering Pines
Owned by the
Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one community and one child at a time.
The land was originally purchased by the club for tree planting, as part of a highway improvement project. It wasn't long before the industrious Kiwanians determined that they could begin to harvest the trees for Christmas Tree sales. The productive tree farm soon gave way to the beautiful family campground that we have today.
Kiwanians continue to own and operate the campground. Like with all Kiwanis projects, net profit is put back into the community in a variety of ways. A few of our projects include:
- The Kiwanis Music Festival
- The Kiwanis Soccer Complex
- The Harrison Park Playground
- Community Living
- The Kiwanis Apartments
Kiwanis continues to work with young people and develop projects in Owen Sound and area. Our Whispering Pines Campground plays an important role in making these projects possible.
